Key Responsibilities

As a distinguished academic, you will contribute to the research, service, and teaching activities at City University of Hong Kong. Your expertise in International Relations/Political Science will be invaluable in shaping the department's intellectual project.

Research Expectations

We seek candidates with a strong track record of producing research that contributes to IR theory development. Specialization in the international relations of a particular region, such as South or Southeast Asia, is highly desirable. Successful candidates will demonstrate an active research agenda, generate external funding, and provide evidence of teaching ability.

Teaching and Service

Candidates are expected to teach at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels, providing high-quality instruction and mentoring. Service to the department and university is also essential, including participation in academic events and committees.

Requirements
  • PhD in International Relations/Political Science with a strong research record.
  • International reputation and outstanding research/grant records for Chair Professor and Professor positions.
  • Number of high-impact publications and grants, with potential to develop a research area, for Associate Professor positions.
  • Demonstrated potential for high-impact publication and grant capture for Assistant Professor positions.
