About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Officer/Assistant Research Officer to join our team in the Department of History. The appointee will assist in a research project on the history of architecture in post-war Hong Kong under the Principal Investigator Prof. Carmen C. M. Tsui.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct literature review and archival research
  • Conduct oral history and interviews
  • Write building appraisals
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator

Requirements

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in history, architecture, or building conservation
  • Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese
  • Strong sense of responsibility and good organizational skills
  • Able to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Applicants are encouraged to provide a writing sample (in English) to demonstrate their writing skills

What We Offer

The rank and commencing salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits, where applicable, include annual leave, medical and dental benefits, and mandatory provident fund. The appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract for 10 months, extendable depending on the appointee's performance and availability of project funds.
