About the Role

We are seeking an exceptional academic leader to join our team as a Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery, School of Clinical Medicine.

As a key member of our faculty, you will play a crucial role in teaching, organizing and developing undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, conducting high-quality scholarly research, providing clinical service and patient care at our teaching hospitals, and contributing to administrative duties in the Department and the Faculty.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching: Develop and deliver curriculum for medical students and interns/residents, ensuring excellent educational outcomes
  • Research: Conduct innovative research and publications, contributing to the advancement of surgical knowledge
  • Clinical Service: Provide high-quality patient care at our teaching hospitals, working closely with multidisciplinary teams
  • Administrative Duties: Contribute to departmental and faculty administrative tasks, supporting the growth and development of our academic community

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A medical qualification registrable with the Medical Council of Hong Kong
  • A higher professional qualification of Specialty Fellowship in Surgery of The College of Surgeons of Hong Kong or equivalent
  • A strong commitment to teaching and training, with experience in curriculum development and delivery
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, colleagues, and stakeholders
  • Demonstrated expertise in research and publication, with a proven track record of high-quality scholarship
