Reporting to a Senior Manager of the Financial Accounting Department, you will be responsible for conducting thorough checks and verifications to ensure the accuracy of HKMA returns and compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines. Your key responsibilities will include preparing financial statements for banking companies and listed companies, drafting accounting policies and procedures manuals, and participating in accounting-related projects such as system enhancements for accounting and regulatory reporting, user-acceptance testing of new products, and other ad-hoc tasks.

To meet these challenges, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A university degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • HKIB Certified Banker would be an advantage
  • Qualified accountant
  • At least five years of working experience in the financial reporting function of a banking company
  • Familiarity with HKMA requirements including banking returns, listing rules, and regulatory requirements applicable to banks and listed companies
  • Previous experience in implementing accounting systems would be advantageous
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to work under pressure
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency in written and spoken English and Chinese
