Job Description

Hang Seng Bank Limited is committed to service excellence and seeks a high-caliber professional to join our Corporate Services function as a Health and Safety Manager.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee regional health and safety performance of the bank, developing and driving strategic initiatives to support service excellence.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive health and safety programs, ensuring compliance with local statutory requirements, international standards, and group standards.
  • Act as a subject matter expert, providing solutions for all-rounded health and safety matters, and serving as a country health and safety coordinator, reporting to HSBC Group.
  • Lead service partners to plan, monitor, deliver, and advise on feasible approaches to protect employees, customers, visitors, and the general public in Hang Seng properties.
  • Manage working partners to review, respond to, and investigate health and safety incidents, providing recommendations.
  • Work with stakeholders to promote workplace wellness, from strategizing to implementation.
  • Adhere to established risk control guidelines, procedures, and measures to identify, assess, report, mitigate, and monitor risks involved in day-to-day works.
  • Liaise with the Business Continuity Incident Management Team to provide advice and investigation on health and safety initiatives.
  • Engage with senior management to foster and promote a robust health and safety culture.
  • Report health and safety performance in the bank's publication.
Requirements
  • Registered Safety Officer under the Factories and Industrial Undertakings (Safety Officers and Safety Supervisors) Regulations.
  • Possession of professional qualification from a recognized professional institution in health and safety.
  • Degree in Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent.
  • 10 years of working experience in sizeable corporations, contracting, or consulting firms, with experience in occupational health and safety management preferred.
  • Solid knowledge and experience in ISO14001/ISO18001/ISO 45001 Occupational Health and Safety Management System.
  • Proven experience in delivering health and safety initiatives and projects.
  • Exposure in a bank or financial institution is advantageous.
  • Additional experience in areas beyond occupational health and safety is a plus.
  • Good understanding of relevant regulations, policies, procedures, practices, and rules.
  • Strong self-motivation, excellent analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills.
  • Great sense of ownership and servicing mindset to ensure efficient and effective customer service processes.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement.
  • Excellent people management skills, and highly independent with the ability to interact with multi-cultural teams.
  • Strong sense of risk management.
