Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing the mission of the City University of Hong Kong to provide high-quality veterinary education, conduct cutting-edge clinical research, and engage with the local community.

Teaching and Clinical Responsibilities

The appointee will teach across the BVM curriculum, ensuring that students attain Day 1 competences by integrating and applying knowledge, skills, and professional attitudes. They will provide didactic and laboratory teaching, as well as support students on clinical rotations. The appointee will also take up administrative work and other duties to facilitate the development of the College and its Departments.

Research and Scholarship

Involvement in clinical research is supported and encouraged. The appointee is expected to contribute to the advancement of animal health through innovative research and scholarship.

Requirements

The appointee shall possess a veterinary qualification recognized for registration as a veterinary surgeon in Hong Kong, with degrees in Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or Bachelor of Veterinary Science (BVSc), or equivalent. Board certification in the relevant discipline is required for appointment at Clinical Associate Professor level or above. A PhD with advanced training in the relevant clinical discipline may be considered as equivalent to board certification. Experience in clinical teaching, service, and research is required, with a PhD preferred for clinical track and essential for tenure track.

Remuneration and Benefits

The remuneration package will be driven by market competitiveness and individual performance. Excellent fringe benefits include gratuity, leave, medical and dental schemes, and relocation assistance (where applicable). Appointment will be made on a fixed-term contract.
