Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineer to join our Finance Consulting team in Hong Kong. As a Data Engineer, you will play a key role in building and implementing large-scale data solutions to help our clients maximize the performance of their Finance function.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop enterprise-grade data solutions to execute clients' vision
  • Understand current state processes and bring them to future state improvement and solution
  • Develop, construct, and test architectures such as databases and large-scale processing solutions
  • Create ETLs/ELTs to handle data from various data sources and formats, including batch and streaming ETLs
  • Provide advice on data solutions and development tools selection
  • Develop APIs and employ various languages and tools to marry systems together
  • Build transformation and validation code that applies complex data aggregation and calculation in different programming languages
  • Document and write technical specifications for solution requirements
  • Plan, design, and lead the implementation of large-scale data platforms
  • Work with technical architects and application designers to understand data conversion requirements and design conversion procedures and applications
  • Analyze new data sources and work with stakeholders to integrate new data into existing pipelines and models
  • Develop go-to-market strategies with team leaders and expand team capabilities
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or related field
  • At least 3 years of working experience on data pipelines, Azure Data Factory, Airflow, Informatica, or Databricks
  • Hands-on programming skills in SQL, Java, Python, C++, Scala, SAS, or Kafka
  • Practical experience with implementing large-scale enterprise data solutions, including data lakes, data warehouses, and data meshes
  • Deep understanding of cloud computing and data technologies, business drivers, emerging computing trends, and deployment options
  • Experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Knowledge of market trends and emerging technologies, such as Big Data, Blockchain, Internet of Things, and Artificial Intelligence
  • Strong problem-solving skills and logical thinking
  • Excellent multitasking skills and task management strategies
  • Ability to complete milestones and work toward multiple deadlines simultaneously
  • Confident in decision making and ability to explain processes or choices as needed
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and Chinese
