Fund Accountant for a Leading Private Equity Firm

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Fund Accountant to join our team. As a key member of the fund accounting department, you will be responsible for overseeing the preparation and delivery of comprehensive financial reports to our clients. This role requires strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.

 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Team Leadership: Oversee a team of fund accountants to ensure timely delivery of financial reports to clients.
  • Fund Accounting Services: Execute accounting services tailored for private equity fund clients, including review and processing of transactions and accounting outputs.
  • Fee Calculation Oversight: Validate fund accounting team's calculations of management fees, capital calls, distributions, carried interest, and waterfall distributions.
  • Statement Review: Examine investor communications, including capital call and distribution notices, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Financial Reporting: Review quarterly and annual financial statements for funds, ensuring adherence to relevant accounting standards.
  • SPV Accounting: Assess and verify accounting practices related to Special Purpose Vehicles (SPVs).
  • Regulatory Reporting: Assist clients with compliance reporting requirements, such as CRS/FATCA, VAT, K-1s, and K-3s.
  • Audit Support: Collaborate with clients to address and resolve inquiries from external auditors during year-end audits.
  • Client Engagement: Participate in initial discussions with clients to outline specific service models tailored to their needs.
  • Fund Onboarding: Facilitate the onboarding process for existing funds and the launch of new funds, ensuring smooth transitions.
  • Technology Integration: Engage in the development and implementation of technology solutions to meet complex client reporting and data needs.
  • Continuous Improvement: Contribute to strategic planning initiatives aimed at optimizing processes and enhancing team performance.

 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in accounting with a focus on private equity or a combination of audit, fund administration, and private equity experience.
  • Professional certification (e.g., CPA, CA) preferred.
  • Familiarity with various accounting frameworks (IFRS, US GAAP).
  • Leadership experience and proven ability to manage teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of thriving in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.

 

Salary and Benefits:

The estimated salary for this position is $120,000-$150,000 per annum, depending on qualifications and experience.
