Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at Electronic Theatre Controls. As a Service Engineer, you will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing complex electrical systems, providing technical support to customers, and ensuring timely completion of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Repair and maintain electrical systems, including high-powered control systems, to ensure optimal performance and safety.
- Provide technical support to customers, including generating service notifications, informing customers of repair status, and ensuring timely arrival to customer sites.
- Evaluate and install/repair equipment at customer venues, as designed by ETC, to ensure correct equipment installation and proper functioning.
- Perform effective end-user and technician training, ensuring customers are equipped to use ETC systems effectively.
- Respond to technical questions from customers in a timely and accurate manner, identifying issues and providing solutions.
- Exceed customer expectations for service and responsiveness, representing the interests of ETC through a positive and customer-focused attitude.
- Stay current on all ETC equipment, including installation and repair procedures, to ensure expertise and provide training to customers.
- Perform hardware and software upgrades to meet customer requirements, working independently and making independent decisions when necessary.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Electronic/Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- All levels of previous job-related experience will be considered, with a focus on entertainment lighting or rigging experience.
- Experience with mains voltage and 3-phase electricity, as well as the ability to use hand tools, power tools, and electronic measuring devices.
- Fluent in spoken Mandarin, English, and Cantonese, with the ability to write in Chinese and English.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize projects, and follow directions and project plans.
- Knowledge of high-powered electrical, digital, and analog control systems, as well as good computer skills.
Working Environment:
This is a field position that requires work outside of an ETC office, with occasional evening and weekend work. The successful candidate will be able to work within a construction environment and have a strong degree of flexibility and independence.
