Chief Operations Officer - NGO in youth development Chief Operating Officer (COO) - NGO Our NGO in youth development is seeking a strategic, hands‑on leader to join our executive team as Chief Operating Officer. This is a chance to help shape organizational growth and impact, driving excellence across all operations. About the Role Work with the CEO to provide strategic leadership, overseeing all aspects of the NGO's operations, administration, resource management, membership/recruitment, and public relations. Manage finances, including budgeting, expenditure, revenue collection, and fundraising initiatives. Oversee the headquarters operation and directly supervise salaried staff, ensuring smooth and efficient functioning. Provide secretarial and administrative support to the board, committees, panels, task forces, and project working groups. Act as key liaison with external stakeholders – government bodies, partner organizations, funders, and community networks. Administer and control the headquarters, coordinate cross‑functional teams, advise on resource deployment, and ensure efficient support across all missions and objectives. Formulate, execute, and update organizational policies, operational orders, and standing instructions. Lead field operations and program delivery, organize resources, command volunteer efforts, and act as spokesperson when required. Direct organization‑wide training and development, planning for future needs and guiding team leaders. Be accountable for the effective use of the NGO's funds, maintain budget discipline, and drive fundraising activity. The Successful Applicant Senior leadership experience in an NGO, non‑profit or public sector, ideally including COO or strategic operations management roles. Proven ability to manage resources, teams, budgets and cross‑functional program delivery. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, comfortable working with boards, funders, and government partners.
