Senior Data Scientist – Zurich Insurance We are seeking a data scientist with expertise in Natural Language Processing (NLP) and advanced AI techniques to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will drive the development of cutting‑edge solutions involving retrieval‑augmented generation, large language models, and agentic AI for our conversational bots platform and insurance‑related AI use cases. Job Responsibilities Identify and define key business challenges that can be tackled using advanced machine learning and NLP techniques, converting complex requirements into actionable data science projects. Design, develop, and deploy sophisticated NLP models—including large language models and retrieval systems—for answer generation and conversational AI, using retrieval‑augmented generation methods to improve performance. Apply machine learning algorithms, statistical methods, and mathematical principles to craft innovative solutions that enhance user engagement. Collaborate closely with business stakeholders to define success metrics and align solutions with business goals, delivering end‑to‑end projects. Manage integration of models into production systems, building scalable, high‑performance data pipelines and ensuring robust model deployment. Stay updated on the latest research in NLP and AI, contributing to technological advancement and exploring new methodologies. Job Requirements Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related field and at least 6 years of experience in data science. Expertise in machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch), NLP libraries (e.g., spaCy, Hugging Face Transformers), and retrieval‑augmented generation techniques. Proficiency in Python and familiarity with big data technologies such as Hadoop and Spark. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders. Strong problem‑solving skills. Location & Working Mode Locations: Hong Kong, Guangzhou (Pazhou). Remote working: Hybrid.
