ABN AMRO Clearing (AAC) Market Surveillance operates globally across Europe, USA, and Asia‑Pacific to monitor post‑trade market abuse and conduct risk. Note: This position will be hired under the Hong Kong subsidiary - ABN AMRO Clearing Hong Kong Limited. The Job We are seeking a Market Surveillance Officer to join our Market Surveillance department. In this role, the officer will oversee surveillance activities, investigate potential fraudulent activity among AAC members, and configure and monitor alerting software such as SMARTS. Roles and Responsibilities Analyze suspected behaviour of clients concerning abusive, manipulative, or illegal trading practices. Retrieve all necessary information from clients and exchanges to evaluate activities. Report to Compliance about potential market abuse activities, explaining analysis and data used so that Compliance can establish corrective measures. Formulate parts of management reports concerning tracked client activities, statistical reporting, and executed analyses and actions. Conduct monitoring of risk controls related to the business and identify weaknesses. Provide regular reporting to the business line and risk control functions. Participate in internal and external discussions and communications with a risk focus. Qualifications Bachelor’s level finance knowledge. Knowledge of market surveillance, tools, and procedures. Knowledge of trading procedures, processes and regulations in Hong Kong markets. Knowledge of trading, exchanges and AAC clients. High IT literacy. Strong initiative to identify and present solutions to the business line. At least 6 years of relevant work experience. Excellent command of English.
