Research Associate / Research Assistant (AI-Powered Analytic Tools) Advanced Biomedical Instrumentation Centre Limited (ABIC) is a collaborative effort coordinated by the University of Hong Kong (HKU) undertaking R&D projects at the Hong Kong Science Park. The aim of ABIC is to develop new and disruptive technologies that will meet the needs of the healthcare sector and contribute to human health. Applications are invited for appointments as Research Associate / Research Assistant (AI-Powered Analytic Tools) (Ref.: H01/2025/111) for innovative research projects in the theme of Advanced Medical Device Components based at the Hong Kong Science Park. Job Description Conduct laboratory experiments related to nanomaterials, electrochemistry, and biosensors. Prepare chemical and biological solutions in sub-molar concentrations with high precision. Perform micro‑pipetting (µL range) and other precise liquid handling techniques. Design and execute experiments, analyze data, and troubleshoot technical issues. Maintain accurate records of experimental procedures, results, and observations. Summarize research findings in written reports, presentations, and manuscripts. Collaborate with team members and contribute to research discussions. Ensure compliance with lab safety protocols and maintain a clean workspace. Assist in ordering lab supplies and maintaining equipment. Handling other relevant tasks as assigned by the supervisor(s). Education Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemistry, Nanotechnology, Materials Science, Biochemistry, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Technical Skills Strong background and interest in analytical chemistry and nanomaterials. Proficiency in chemical solution preparation, pipetting, and lab instrumentation. Soft Skills Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications Strong practical experience in standard laboratory operations is highly preferred. Prior research experience in electrochemical biosensors (surface modification, nanomaterials synthesis, or biofunctionalization). Familiarity with data analysis software (e.g., Origin, MATLAB, Python).
