Engineering Technician of SMO (Service & Maintenance Organization) Company: Hitachi East Asia Limited Division: Particle Beam Therapy Department Status: One year Contract Shifts: A Shift: 7:00 – 16:00, B Shift: 9:00 – 18:00, C Shift: 11:00 – 20:00 (working hours: 8h, break: 1h, sometimes overtime). Works on Saturday, Sunday and public holidays, with compensatory leave. Hitachi East Asia Ltd. ( is seeking an Engineering Technician to support the Proton Beam Therapy (PBT) System at Hong Kong Sanatorium & Hospital (HKSH). The role involves ensuring safe and continuous operation of particle beam therapy through daily system startup/shutdown, system monitoring, preventive and corrective maintenance, and performance improvement work. Responsibilities Provide necessary resources to implement service and maintenance activities. Ensure maintenance and service activities keep the system available for treatment. Handle technical inquiries and complaints from the customer, and transmit them to the complaint system. Execute Field Safety Corrective Action directed by the manufacturer. Approve records when SMO performs work at the site and record activities in a Maintenance Report. Analyze Maintenance Reports quarterly to identify defect trends. Approve procurement of spare parts, consumables, and other necessary items. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher, or tertiary education with technical certification in engineering or related discipline (Electrical, Mechanical, Field Measurement, etc.). Minimum 2 years of experience in Electrical, Mechanical, or Field Measurement field (advantage). Must be able to work at elevated heights of at least 35 feet and use stairs/ladders without difficulty. Reading, writing and speaking in Cantonese. Standard communication skills for internal and external stakeholders. Flexibility, response, and problem‑solving mindset. Reading, writing and speaking in English (Japanese not required). Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to read electrical diagrams, use electrical measuring instruments (oscilloscope, digital multimeter), and logical troubleshooting skills (advantage). Experience maintaining medical devices or industrial plants (advantage). Knowledge of standard tools (screwdrivers, impact drivers, etc.). Holder of Radiation Protection Supervisor Certificate (advantage). Familiarity with high‑voltage, radiation, and electromagnetic environments (advantage). Compliance with laws and regulations. Additional Information Preferred candidate will have basic knowledge of Microsoft software and be able to read electrical diagrams. No specific language other than Cantonese is mandatory, but English proficiency is highly desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
