Senior/Staff Engineer, Fraud Risk

Overview We’re looking for a Software Engineer to join our Fraud Risk team. This role will provide an early and significant impact on the engineering team. You will be responsible for the implementation and support of backend microservices, working closely with the frontend and cross-functional teams to coordinate complex deliverables, conducting research, and providing meaningful feedback about decisions within the team. You will have opportunities to work in domains including real-time fraud monitoring, event data stream ingestion, advanced A/B testing capabilities for customers, and data science driven solutions for business users. What You’ll Be Doing Proficiency with Java stack and JVM (memory/performance tuning, GC) Proficiency with developing Web Services, SOA, REST APIs, Message Queue, Distributed/Scalable Architecture Proficiency in Spring Framework (Spring Boot), Hibernate (or similar ORM), Maven, Git Design and develop 24/7 high-scale APIs and distributed systems; tech stack on Alibaba Cloud/AWS Strong CS fundamentals, solid knowledge of OOP/OOD, GoF design patterns Write unit tests, integration tests and CI/CD scripts Own, monitor and improve our services in production Development and testing of high quality product features spanning multiple product domains Collaborate with engineering managers, architects, engineers & QA to develop innovative solutions meeting market needs with regards to functionality, performance, reliability, implementation schedules, and principles Be a technical leader; research and promote new technologies and tools Address technical challenges - performance, fault-tolerance, security and live production issues Be involved throughout the service life cycle and influence decisions at every step What We Look For In You Min. 5+ years of experience in Software Development Solid foundation in Java, with deep understanding of JVM configuration, IO, multi-threading, concurrency frameworks, data structures, algorithms, and design patterns Experience with mainstream open-source frameworks such as SpringBoot, SpringMVC, Mybatis, SpringCloud Experience with MySQL, Oracle, and other databases; understanding of locks, indexes, optimization, and design methods such as sub-database/sub-table, leader/follower synchronization Familiar with middleware such as Kafka, ELK, Hologres, etc. Understanding of caching systems (Memcached, Redis) and how to choose solutions Understanding of distributed systems principles, including CAP, consistency, idempotent operations Team player with ability to drive cross-team solutions with complex dependencies Results-oriented, self-learner, problem solver with a can-do attitude Clear logic, quick thinking and good communication skills Bilingual in Mandarin and English is highly preferred Nice-To-Have Interest in blockchain and cryptocurrency; understanding how traders, exchanges, and financial institutions operate Experience in FinTech, eCommerce, SaaS, AdTech, or Digital Wallet environments Strategic, analytical, and execution-oriented mindset Familiarity with product management processes and tools Experience working with teams across different time zones Learning & development programs and education subsidies for employee growth Team-building programs and company events Wellness and meal allowances Comprehensive healthcare schemes for employees and dependants Seniority level Mid-Senior level Employment type Full-time Job function Information Technology Industries Software Development We’re unlocking community knowledge in a new way.
