Coach and Mentor of Analysts, Global Hedge Fund Executive Search specialist covering Investment roles Our client is a leading Global Platform Hedge Fund who place a strong emphasis on the importance of continual education and growth amongst their investment team. They have an existing team of Analyst Coaches who support the ongoing improvement of their investment team members. If you are a passionate and experienced investor who also has a track record in coaching, mentoring and nurturing your team members over a period of at least one year this could be an attractive role. Please note it will no longer involve direct risk-taking. You will be measured qualitatively rather than investment related KPIs. Your focus will be developing the investment professional's skills with the goal of driving superior alpha generation and enhancing team investment processes by analyzing, consolidating, and sharing best practices, training the investment team population, and preparing the analyses and data with partners across the firm. Role Review stock pitches and provide detailed feedback to help junior analysts refine their modeling skills, pitching, and idea generation skills Build analytical tools for measuring and improving long/short analyst performance and investment process Conduct deep dives on long/short portfolios to determine key return drivers and assess overall investment/team process with the objective of improving returns Develop and update curriculum of best practices to promote continuous learning and improvement on the investment platform Ad hoc, project-based work supporting the Head of Professional Development and senior management Partner closely with Compliance Requirements Proven background in long/short investing, either as an experienced equity analyst or a long/short portfolio manager A passion for mentoring and developing investment professionals, with a focus on fostering growth and enhancing skills Demonstrated ability to analyze and evaluate investment opportunities, with a strong track record of performance Fluency in Mandarin Chinese or Japanese skills is essential, as the role requires effective communication with analysts in these language regions Strong written/verbal communication skills and the ability to engage with PMs/Senior Management Ability to manage projects end-to-end while exercising strong decision-making capabilities to execute on the team’s vision Strong analytical abilities to assess complex financial data and provide insightful feedback to analysts A strong financial acumen that includes the basics of financial statement analysis and the ability to understand different business models and industries, modeling skills are also crucial for this role The ability to build relationships across the investment platform Excellent technical skills with Excel/Bloomberg, presentation-building, database analytics and potentially programming experience Commitment to the highest ethical standards Get in touch with L&P for more information.
