Assistant Analyst

Assistant Analyst (Equity Derivatives Middle Office) – Cross-border Equity · Perform trade validation and booking of equity derivatives trades (Options, Swaps, Variance Swaps, Structured Products) into the internal systems. · Manage the entire trade lifecycle, including confirmations, affirmations, settlements, expiries, exercises, and adjustments. · Investigate and resolve trade breaks and settlement fails with counterparties, brokers, and clearinghouses. · Daily reconcile trades and positions between front-office systems, clients, and counterparties. Operational Excellence & Process Improvement · Identify and elevate operational risks and control gaps within the trade processing workflow. · Develop and document robust procedures for new products and processes. · Participate in projects and collaborate with Technology, Risk, Compliance, and Front Office to streamline processes, enhance systems, and automate manual tasks. · Serve as a key point of contact for the trading desk regarding all trade-related queries and issues. · Work closely with internal teams (Finance, Risk, Compliance) and external parties (brokers, counterparties) to resolve queries efficiently. Job requirements: · Bachelor degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent with minimum 1 – 2 years’ experience in a Middle Office, Trade Support or Operations in Equity Derivatives trading. · Solid fundamental understanding of OTC and exchange-traded equity derivatives products and lifecycle as well as knowledge of trade confirmation/settlement processes and clearing mechanisms · Experience in P&L and Risk reconciliation and explanation; Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and experience in VBA and Python is strong plus · Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment · Meticulous attention to details and a control-oriented mindset · Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with different counterparts · Good command of written and spoken English and Mandarin.
