Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain Bonnell Electric is redefining high-performance electric mobility through world-class engineering, global supply chain excellence, and a relentless commitment to rider experience. With final assembly operations in Taiwan and a fast-scaling global footprint (USA, Australia, Canada, EU), we are building a new generation of premium electric mountain bikes and electric dirt bikes that set the benchmark for quality, performance, and reliability. As we scale production, strengthen our global dealer network, and introduce new platforms, we are seeking a Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain who can elevate our supply chain, industrialization readiness, and product quality—ensuring every bike that leaves our partners reflects the standards of a world-class performance brand. Role Overview The Director of Manufacturing & Supply Chain is responsible for leading all pre production and production-readiness operations across Taiwan and China, ensuring accurate BOM execution, stable and high-quality manufacturing, supplier performance, spare parts planning, and seamless final assembly with our partner factory in Taiwan. This role will serve as the operational backbone between: China sourcing teams USA & global aftersales teams Product, engineering, and quality teams The role combines strategic governance, hands‑on supplier/assembly oversight, quality and process control, and global logistics + aftersales readiness, making it ideal for a seasoned operations leader with deep Asia supply chain experience. Key Responsibilities Pre‑Production & Industrialization Leadership Own production readiness from prototype handover to SOP, ensuring all models meet Bonnell’s performance and reliability expectations. Lead industrialization coordination with engineering, product development, FJ, and China sourcing teams. Validate and enforce IQC/IPQC/OQC systems across suppliers and assembly partners. Establish clear sign‑off processes for first builds, PPAP‑equivalent documentation, and pilot run analysis. Ensure tooling, fixtures, work instructions, and capacity plans are in place ahead of new model launches. Manage and develop the supplier ecosystem across Taiwan and China, including frame, component, electronics, plastics, and battery vendors. Create and maintain supplier scorecards, quarterly reviews, and structured governance routines. Evaluate and qualify new suppliers based on cost, quality, capacity, and risk. Ensure BOM accuracy, version control, traceability, and integration with global ERP/MRP systems. Support China sourcing team with validation of newly sourced BOM items. Quality Assurance & Process Control Strengthen quality systems across the supply chain, drawing on experience with IQC/IPQC/OQC and assembly audit routines. Deploy structured KPIs and dashboards for quality, delivery, and supplier performance. Respond to quality deviations with root‑cause analysis, CAPA, and cross‑functional alignment. Ensure consistent quality output from FJ and other assembly partners. Production Planning & Capacity Management Forecast production volumes in collaboration with the USA sales & business development team and global sales channels. Lead capacity planning with FJ, ensuring on‑time builds, labor readiness, and material availability. Build SOP processes across procurement, assembly, logistics, and aftersales operations. Govern production schedules, takt alignment, and output tracking. Spare Parts, Warranty, and Aftersales Operations Oversee global spare parts planning, stocking strategies, forecasting, and replenishment. Ensure warranty parts availability and clear communication with USA aftersales teams. Create structured processes for accessories, replacement parts, and dealer support packages. Assist with RMA tracking and warranty failure analytics. Manage logistics from Asia manufacturing hubs to USA, AUS, and future EU distribution centers. Ensure cost‑effective and on‑time shipments, freight planning, and customs compliance. Coordinate with warehouses and 3PL partners on inbound and outbound flows. Cross‑Functional & Cross‑Cultural Leadership Lead operational teams across Taiwan and coordinate closely with China sourcing teams. Provide clear operational rhythm, reporting, and communication across global stakeholders. Mentor teams in Taiwan, China, and abroad; build a culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Proactively identify risks in supply chain, capacity, cost, or quality—and lead mitigation actions. Build and optimize dashboards for supplier performance, production output, quality yield, and inventory health. Drive transparency and data‑driven decision‑making across all operations. Ideal Candidate Profile Experience 10+ years in global operations, supply chain, or industrialization—ideally in cycling, e‑mobility, sporting goods, or consumer hardware. Deep experience with Taiwan and China manufacturing, especially frame, assembly, or component ecosystems. Strong background managing assembly partners and supplier networks. Proven success implementing structured supplier governance, KPIs, and cross‑functional execution routines. Demonstrated experience leading multi‑site teams across Asia and coordinating with USA/EU HQ functions. Skills Mastery of supply chain operations, production readiness, quality control systems, and BOM governance. Able to work autonomously and independently, making sound decisions without immediate support; comfortable operating as the primary Bonnell representative in Taiwan while coordinating remotely with global teams. Strong communicator, highly structured, capable of working between engineering, quality, operations, and commercial teams. Data‑driven; skilled with dashboards, KPIs, and performance tracking. Lean/6σ experience (Black Belt preferred). Fluent in English; Mandarin/Taiwanese a strong plus. Bonus Passion for cycling, e‑MTB, and dirt bikes. Experience scaling fast‑moving hardware startups or global OEMs. Background working with battery systems, electronics, or high‑performance sporting goods.
