Fabric Merchandiser/ Senior Fabric Merchandiser - Woven Fabric About the role Our Client is seeking a detail-oriented Fabric Merchandiser /Senior Fabric Merchandiser - Woven Fabric to lead fabric sourcing, development and supplier management. This role involves coordinating with mills, ensuring quality compliance, and supporting cross-functional teams from concept to bulk production. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of woven fabrics. A proactive mindset and excellent communication skills are essential for success in this dynamic position. What you'll be doing Develop and execute merchandise strategies, forecast assortments, and manage inventory to meet business goals. Monitor market trends, consumer behavior, and competitor activity to identify sourcing and product opportunities. Independently source woven fabrics, expand the supplier database, conduct audits of new and existing mills or factories with the quality team, and oversee development and bulk production processes. Negotiate pricing and contracts, coach mills to ensure compliance with standards and improve performance, and enhance supplier partnerships across divisions. Provide technical support on prints and finishes, and collaborate with QA teams to uphold fabric testing standards. Work closely with design, sourcing, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery and resolve operational issues. Issue POs, manage shipments and documentation, select cost-effective shipping modes, and maintain in-house system records. Track product and purchasing performance, manage stock levels, and prepare reports on cost, delivery, and defect analysis. What we’re looking for 3–7 years of experience in woven fabric, textile material sourcing, printing support, and vendor management. Higher Diploma or above in Fashion Textile Merchandising, Textile Design, Clothing Procurement, or a related field. Strong knowledge of fabric sourcing, development, production processes, qualities, and finishing. Candidates with a background in handling fabrics in trading, mill, or supplier environments are preferred. Familiarity with fabric traceability and inspection systems (e.g., 4-point); able to audit mills and ensure compliance. Skilled in trend forecasting, assortment planning, inventory management, and interpreting market data. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and external suppliers. Good command of spoken and written English, Cantonese, and Mandarin. Proficient in MS Office; experience with PLM/ERP systems and merchandising/data analytics tools is an advantage. Responsible, proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working independently. Willing to travel domestically and overseas as required. Immediate availability or short notice is preferred.
