Information Technology Services Office (ITSO) is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure of the University, and championing the wise use of IT for learning, research and administration activities. The Network Systems Team within ITSO oversees the support and operation of the University’s Campus Network Infrastructure and Data Centers. We are seeking a proactive and skilled individual to work closely with the Head of Network Systems in developing and maintaining our extensive, multi‑vendor campus network. The applicant will be responsible for the support, administration and maintenance of university network infrastructure across multiple platforms that include wired and wireless networks, Voice over IP infrastructure, optical fiber and UTP cabling plant. Responsibilities Provide technical support for internet, wired and wireless network, IP telephony and IoT infrastructure, ensuring optimal availability and performance. Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network hardware including routers, switches, wireless controllers and access points. Collaborate with internal teams to plan and implement network upgrades, expansions and improvements. Monitor and handle all network‑security related incidents to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with security standards. Manage and maintain security infrastructure including firewalls, VPNs, Network Detection and Response (NDR) systems and other security tools to safeguard the network environment. Technical Skills and Experience Solid design and implementation experience in campus‑wide wired & wireless network, network security including firewalls, VPN and IoT infrastructure (such as LoRaWAN). Strong knowledge and experience in data‑center networking solutions (such as MP‑BGP VPN, VXLAN, SDN, AWS / Microsoft Azure networking). Hands‑on experience in network management software (Cisco DNAC/NDFC, PRTG and Zabbix) and cloud service monitoring. Prior exposure to implementing multi‑vendor networking solutions including products from Cisco, H3C, Huawei and Juniper Networks. Advanced understanding of routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), Ethernet switching, SSL VPN, NAT, DHCP, DNS and RADIUS. Project management experience building large‑scale network and coordinating with multiple vendors and user parties during project implementation. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or a related field. Good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills; able to work under pressure with passion and self‑initiation. Preferably at least 8 years of relevant work experience and sound networking knowledge, plus some supervisory experience; applicants with fewer years will be considered for a junior‑level position. Duration: 2 years, renewable. Starting salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits including annual leave, medical and dental benefits will be provided.
