Join to apply for the Associate Editor, Hong Kong Palace Museum role at West Kowloon Cultural District Authority The Hong Kong Palace Museum (HKPM) is a dedicated museum that showcases exquisite artefacts from the Palace Museum’s collections and collaborates with other museums in research, exhibitions, education and public programmes. The museum comprises 7,800 square metres of gallery space for standing and special exhibitions on the Palace Museum’s collections of paintings, calligraphy, antiquities and historical objects, as well as thematic displays on world cultures and civilisations. Fixed‑term contract position of 2 years with possibility for renewal subject to organisational needs and individual performance. Responsibilities Assist supervisor on a variety of writing, editing, editorial calendar planning, workflow coordinating, fact checking, source verification, and information research; Support in monitoring and reviewing the production details of publications, articles, multimedia content, online text, or other written materials; Coordinate with other teams within the Museum and relevant departments under the Authority to ensure content and materials align with standards and requirements; liaise with vendors including writers, translators, copy‑editors, etc., to ensure the writing materials are provided within specified timelines and with high quality; Support the team in document management, schedule meetings, and procurement process; Perform any duties from time to time as reasonably assigned by HKPM. Qualifications Recognised university degree in Languages, Literature, Art History, History, Journalism, or other relevant disciplines; At least 3 years of experience in publication or editing related to art or culture; InDesign and typesetting skills are a plus; Solid editing experience in creating innovative and solid publications for the general public in English or Chinese in the arts and cultural fields; English language editorial and translation skills highly preferable; Experience collaborating with different internal and external stakeholders and conducting research, checking and verifying facts; Demonstrate good editing or copywriting skills, attentiveness to detail and a can‑do attitude; Be creative, mature, independent and a problem solver; Good understanding of project and budget management; Proficiency in both written and spoken English and Chinese.
