Front Office Equity Derivatives Quant, Vice President Step into the Role as a Front Office Equity Derivatives Quant in Barclays Hong Kong. The role is embedded within the equity flow, exotic and QIS trading business. In this role you will engage in the Research and development of quantitative models for derivatives pricing and risk management, and support the development and maintenance of C++ and Python analytical libraries with provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies and technological solutions. To be successful in this role, you must have followed : Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications: At least 2-5 years of experience working as a derivatives quant Strong understanding of derivatives pricing theory (flow and exotic options) Master’s degree in quantitative finance, or PhD in science / math / computer science / engineering Advanced mathematics skills including stochastic calculus Knowledge of C++ and Python Industry experience in developing in a C++ analytics library Experience writing QIS scripts Knowledge of machine learning and data analysis You may be assessed on key critical skills relevant for success in the role such as mathematics, finance, programming, risk and controls, change and transformation, business acumen, and strategic thinking. Purpose of the role To provide quantitative and analytical expertise to support trading strategies, risk management, and decision-making within the investment banking domain, applying quantitative analysis, mathematical modelling, and technology to optimise trading and investment opportunities. Accountabilities Development and implementation of quantitative models and strategies to derive insight into market trends and optimise trading decisions, pricing, and risk management across various financial products and markets. Working closely with sales teams to identify clients' needs and develop customised solutions. In-depth research, data analysis, and statistical modelling to derive insights into market trends, pricing, and risk dynamics. Provide front office infrastructure support through ownership and maintenance of analytical libraries. Provision of expertise on quantitative methodologies, technological advancements, and industry best practices to drive innovation within the trading environment. To contribute or set strategy, drive requirements and make recommendations for change. Plan resources, budgets, and policies; manage and maintain policies/processes; deliver continuous improvements and accelerate breaches of policies/procedures. If managing a team, they define jobs and responsibilities, planning for the department’s future needs and operations, counselling employees on performance and contributing to employee pay decisions/changes. They may also lead a number of specialists to influence the operations of a department, in alignment with strategic as well as tactical priorities, while balancing short and long term goals and ensuring that budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements.
