Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Medical Affairs Strategy and Tactical Plan
  • Develop and implement Medical Affairs Strategy for the therapeutic area or individual product.
  • Provide expert medical advice/insights into overall launch and product strategy during new indication or product launch.
  • Work closely with local colleagues from marketing, IMAT, and regulatory affairs during local business planning and strategic planning.
  • Ensure Medical Affairs strategy is aligned with the brand and company strategy and executed on time with budget management.
  • Ensure medical leadership during cross-functional meetings.
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Develop and implement KOL development plan.
Scientific Communication
  • Maintain a high level of expertise and up-to-date knowledge about the therapeutic area, treatment guidelines, or competitors landscape.
  • Be seen as the local therapeutic area/product expert at a peer level with HCPs.
  • Gain insights through in-depth scientific data discussions with HCPs on pre-launch and marketed products.
  • Pre- and post-conference preparation and presentation of scientific data to stakeholders.
Medical Education
  • Identify local education needs of external stakeholders.
  • Build medical education partnerships with HCPs or medical societies.
  • Provide speakers with scientific information on company areas of interest.
Data Generation
  • Develop data generation programs to address local data gaps.
  • Support execution of company-sponsored clinical studies.
Pre-approval Access
  • Manage the communication and logistics of pre-approval access programs.
Unsolicited Medical Information
  • Provide medical information upon request to HCPs with well documentation.
Review and Approval of Promotional Materials
  • Contribute to the development of promotional materials by providing medical insights.
  • Manage review and approval of promotional materials according to local laws and company SOP compliance.
Training/Knowledge Sharing
  • Work with marketing and sales managers to develop sales training plans.
  • Conduct disease or product training to internal staff as needed.
Medical Compliance
  • Ensure completion of company SOP and compulsory training.
  • Ensure all medical activities are conducted within company compliance principles.

Special Requirements:

  • Demonstrate ability to update medical and scientific knowledge.
  • Interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with a broad range of audiences.
  • Advanced presentation skills and business acumen.
  • Perform innovatively in a complex and changing environment.
  • Advanced problem-solving, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
  • Awareness of Johnson & Johnson Credo values and International Health Care Business Integrity Guide.
  • Ability to travel to overseas meetings/congresses and work weekends if necessary.

Qualifications:

  • Qualification: Pharm, MD, PhD and/or Master Degree in science or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years working experience in pharmaceutical industry or research company.
  • Strong record of deep knowledge in the therapeutic area and interpretation of medical data.
  • Experience with scientific acumen and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Cantonese.
