Senior Credit Officer, Specialised Finance Risk

Job Summary As Senior Credit Officer, Specialised Finance Risk (Hong Kong, Singapore) , the Role Holder will be responsible for second‑line defence responsibilities related to credit risk. This includes oversight and challenge of risk management actions from the first line, covering: Ensuring the Group’s Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) for Credit Risk is understood and adhered to. Monitoring compliance with the Group’s Risk Appetite Framework for Credit Risk and highlighting significant matters to senior management and risk committees. Overseeing effectiveness of the ERMF by reviewing and escalating gaps or significant matters to senior management and Board level committees. Building a culture of good conduct within the Risk function, embedding the Risk Culture statement as described in the ERMF. Making final credit decisions for wholesale lending facilities. Managing a Senior Credit Manager. Responsibilities Governance and management of exposures to Private Equity and Other Investment Funds (Financial Sponsors) primarily for the APAC region and supporting other regions as required: Approval, management, and ongoing monitoring of Subscription Finance exposures for Corporate & Investment Banking (including SMA related exposures). Approval, management, and ongoing monitoring of NAV / Hybrid / GP / Bespoke Credit Solutions exposures for CIB. Approval, management and monitoring of any exposures reliant on Financial Sponsors or their entities, including credit facilities with partial reliance in partnership with other Credit Officers. Approval, management and monitoring of Commercial Real Estate (CRE) loans. Oversight of overall financing exposures across Financial Sponsors within CIB, managing sponsor concentrations and providing risk review to business strategy. Governance for these portfolios, including updating Credit Underwriting Principles, engaging with Audit/CRR, regulatory deliverables, model oversight, stress testing and leading related projects. Financial Sponsors exclude Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds, Real Money Funds and Hedge Funds managed by FIR and TRM teams. Qualifications 10+ years of experience in risk management within Banking and Finance, covering Private Equity and other funds. Knowledge of the Asian market desirable. Strong business acumen, leadership, interpersonal skills and multicultural awareness. Track record in managing risk across geographically dispersed and varied product bases, with expertise in process design and control. Understanding of regulatory frameworks relevant to the role of SCO, Specialized Finance Risk. Experience in relationship management with senior external stakeholders including regulators and rating agencies.
