Information Technology (IT) Assistant The Information Technology (IT) Assistant provides technical support to ensure the smooth operation of the company’s computer systems, networks, and related technology. This role assists IT staff in troubleshooting, maintenance, and installation tasks while ensuring that all hardware, software, and network resources function effectively and securely. The IT Assistant plays a vital role in supporting daily business operations and end-user satisfaction. Key Responsibilities 1. Technical Support & Troubleshooting Provide first-level technical assistance to employees experiencing hardware, software, or network issues. Assist in diagnosing and resolving IT problems in a timely and professional manner. Support installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer systems, printers, and peripherals. Log and track all IT support requests and ensure proper documentation of resolutions. 2. System & Network Maintenance Assist in maintaining local area networks (LAN), internet connections, and wireless systems. Monitor system performance and report any irregularities or downtime to senior IT staff. Support system updates, security patches, and antivirus management. Help maintain data backup and recovery systems. 3. IT Administration & Asset Management Maintain accurate records of IT equipment inventory and user accounts. Assist in setting up user accounts, permissions, and email configurations. Support procurement and installation of new IT hardware and software. Coordinate with vendors or service providers when necessary. 4. User Training & Support Provide basic training and guidance to users on software applications and IT best practices. Help prepare documentation, manuals, and IT support materials. Promote awareness of cybersecurity policies and data protection practices. 5. Project Support Assist the IT team in technology upgrades, system rollouts, or infrastructure improvement projects. Research emerging technologies and suggest improvements to enhance system performance.
