Mainscale Class Teacher (Starting Aug 2026) - Clearwater Bay School Clearwater Bay School is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School serving the Sai Kung, Clearwater Bay and Tseung Kwan O communities in the Eastern New Territories of Hong Kong. Through the IB Primary Years Programme we offer a world‑class international primary education to 720 students in Years 1‑6 that develops their creativity, confidence and willingness to achieve their personal best. We are looking for a Mainscale Class Teacher. The role is a full‑time two‑year contract starting in August 2026, renewable by mutual consent. The main responsibility is to maximise student learning and development through planning, preparation and delivery of programmes that meet individual learning needs and achieve specific outcomes. Teachers manage a range of abilities and are accountable for effective programme delivery, reflecting critically on practice to improve engagement and learning. Main Accountabilities Plan lessons and lesson sequences that address individual learning needs and ensure progression. Use a range of appropriate strategies for teaching, learning and classroom management. Implement flexible groupings and structured inquiry to deliver high‑quality lessons in line with the IBO philosophy. Maintain a well‑organised and stimulating learning environment. Integrate technology to effectively enhance learning. Use prior attainment data to set realistic expectations. Apply a variety of assessment and reporting methods that demonstrate achievement against learning outcomes. Provide clear and constructive feedback to students and their parents or caregivers. Wider Professional Roles Plan and engage in professional learning activities that support school and systematic priorities. Take responsibility for own professional development and use outcomes to improve teaching and learning. Make an active contribution to the policies and aspirations of the school. Ensure classroom procedures are completed efficiently. Collaborate with the school community to build a team environment that supports students’ learning. Additional Responsibilities (Optional) Assist with or manage an aspect of daily school management. Support year‑level, curriculum, student‑management, principal or vice‑principal functions. Oversee a specialist function such as sport, careers, student welfare, excursions or camps. Supervise a range of student activities, including support and welfare programmes. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Education, or Bachelor’s Degree in any subject with PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education), or equivalent. Relevant years of teaching experience within a recognised educational organisation.
