Overview Senior Software Engineer - Data Orchestration at Feedzai. The Engineering (Tech) Team builds the next generation of tools to catch fraud in real time with a machine learning first approach. You will be part of the team responsible for developing the Feedzai Orchestration product, dealing with large volumes of data, multiple data sources, data orchestration and transformation, and integration of data providers into a cohesive system. The product is used by Data Engineers, Business Analysts and Data Scientists, and supports use cases such as Account Opening to onboard clients safely while protecting institutions against fraud and other risks. Responsibilities Iterate within an Agile squad to turn product ideas into shippable increments across the full stack, including Scala micro-services and other languages. Write idiomatic, reusable code in Scala with unit, property-based and integration tests; participate in rigorous code reviews to maintain quality. Deliver end-to-end solutions when needed, from APIs to frontend components, while collaborating with Product & Design to translate user needs into usable interfaces. Operate across the full software development lifecycle: design, implement, test, deploy, observe, maintain and refine software services. Collaborate with teammates to promote engineering excellence, document decisions, share knowledge, and mentor peers across backend and frontend domains. Qualifications BSc or MSc in Computer Science (or equivalent) with strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures and distributed systems. 4+ years building production JVM back-ends with Scala as a primary language (Cats-Effect, ZIO, Akka, or similar). Proven ability to develop high-performance, concurrent services and APIs (REST, gRPC, GraphQL, event-driven). Hands-on experience with modern data and messaging platforms (Kafka, Spark/Flink, Cassandra/DynamoDB, RabbitMQ or Pulsar) and scaling them. Growth mindset: curiosity, autonomy and a drive to learn, experiment and teach. Nice to have Cloud expertise (AWS, Kubernetes/EKS, observability stacks, IaC, multi-environment deployments) and experience with a modern data stack (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, DuckDB, dbt, Airflow, Dagster). Nice to have frontend experience with React or similar and TypeScript.
