ENGINEERING DIRECTOR - OEM / ODM / iOT / electronic manufacturer (Dongguan/5day) We are a leading electronic manufacturing solutions provider with over 40 years of ODM and OEM experience, supported by our own dedicated R&D capabilities. We operate a state-of-the-art main factory in Dongguan, China, along with a minor factory in Vietnam. We serve global customers across consumer, industrial, medical, and automotive sectors. As one of the world’s largest manufacturers of connected devices (IoT) for home applications, we specialize in design, co-development, turnkey manufacturing, and AI-enabled solutions. Lead engineering operations at the Dongguan factory. This role oversees a team of 40 engineers, including 5 managers from Hong Kong, across electronics, mechanical, and software disciplines. Drive both OEM and ODM projects, ensuring product innovation, cost efficiency, and quality excellence. The position requires strong leadership in feasibility studies, design reviews, manufacturing readiness, and production transfer to our Vietnam factory, while maintaining close collaboration with customers and the Sales team. Lead cross-disciplinary teams (electronics, mechanical, software) to develop innovative electronic products. Manage both OEM and ODM projects from concept to mass production. Conduct feasibility studies based on customer requirements and product features. Calculate and monitor product and project costs to ensure profitability. Review circuit design, component selection, and mechanical tooling design. Oversee DFM and DFMEA processes to ensure manufacturing readiness and risk mitigation. Develop and implement test plans for new products. Ensure quality control in both new product development and routine mass production. Oversee product production transfer to the Vietnam factory. Represent engineering in client meetings with the Sales team, ensuring clear communication and technical alignment. Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical, Software, or related field. 6+ years of engineering leadership experience in electronic product development and manufacturing. Proven ability to lead managers and engineers across electronics, mechanical, and software disciplines. Hands‑on experience managing both OEM and ODM projects from concept through mass production. Strong background in feasibility studies, cost calculation, and project monitoring. Skilled in circuit design review, component selection, and mechanical tooling design review. Knowledgeable in DFM and DFMEA processes, ensuring manufacturability and risk mitigation. Experience in developing test plans and overseeing product validation. Strong track record in quality control for new product development and routine mass production. Ability to coordinate troubleshooting and resolve quality issues effectively. Excellent leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills, with proficiency in English for client meetings. Work Location: Dongguan Annual leave entitlement of 14 days.
