The Right Profile Syfe is hiring a highly motivated and experienced Operations Lead to manage and oversee the daily operations and regulatory framework for our Hong Kong business expansion. This critical role will ensure Syfe's operations in Hong Kong are robust, efficient, and fully compliant with all local regulatory requirements, particularly those relevant to our brokerage and wealth management services. You will be instrumental in establishing and maintaining the highest standards of client asset security and operational integrity. Location: Hong Kong Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence: Oversee all daily operational workflows, including trade settlement, client onboarding, know-your-customer (KYC) procedures, anti-money laundering (AML) controls, and the operational aspects of cash management. Risk Management: Develop and maintain internal controls, policies, and procedures to effectively mitigate operational and compliance risks, with a particular focus on safeguarding segregated client assets held with custodians. Process Improvement: Identify and implement improvements to operational processes and technology integration to enhance efficiency, scalability, and the user-friendly experience Syfe is known for.Policy Development: Draft, update, and disseminate internal compliance policies and employee training related to local laws, market conduct, and ethical standards. Relationship Management with service providers: Be the point of contact with service providers including brokers and custodian banks for all investment products including trade settlement and corporate actions. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight: Establish, implement, and monitor a robust compliance framework in line with Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC) regulations. Act as the primary point of contact for local regulatory matters. Minimum Qualifications Degree educated with a minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant experience in operations, risk management, or compliance within the financial services industry in Hong Kong. Deep practical knowledge and understanding of SFC regulations relevant to brokerage and asset management activities. Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing client asset segregation and custodial processes. Proven ability to work autonomously and establish new operational and compliance processes in a fast-paced fintech or startup environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Preferred Qualifications/Experiences Experience in the brokerage or digital wealth management / personal investment sectors. Experience with handling queries from auditor and regulators. Experience with multi-asset trading operations (equities and OTC securities) and the knowledge of corporate actions processing. Experience with implementation of Ops controls frameworks and processes that are in line with regulatory requirements. Relevant professional certifications (e.g., in Compliance, AML.
