Responsibilities Assures proper installation, preventive maintenance and repair of mechanical equipment and piping systems to ensure their maximum service life and efficiency. Ensures that rotating and stationary equipment are maintained in ready condition at all times. Assists maintenance and operating supervision in troubleshooting problems with critical and less critical machinery; performs corrective maintenance operations. Investigates and follows up equipment issues, supports root‑cause analysis, provides technical leadership, trains staff and promotes continuous improvement of the maintenance strategy. Develops maintenance repair procedures for critical machinery. Prepares preventive maintenance schedules (along with the CMMS coordinator) covering mechanical equipment and supervises/performs such maintenance as necessary. Contacts suppliers to determine best methods of repairing equipment and to arrange for services from such suppliers. Keeps the plant and facility tidy, pays attention to maintaining the good state of tools and equipment. Participates in the preparation of monthly reports regarding mechanical equipment issues. Assists in training and prepares for continuous and safe operation of the plant. Requirements Diploma or above in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline. At least 5 years of related experience in wastewater or sludge treatment plants. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Strong knowledge of statutory, regulatory safety and environmental requirements. Proficient in written and spoken English and Chinese. Less experience may be considered for a Mechanical Maintenance Technician role.
