MUFG Securities Hong Kong is seeking an accomplished Assistant Vice President for their Trade Support Operations team. What you’ll do As an Assistant Vice President in Trade Support Operations based in Hong Kong, you will be entrusted with overseeing the end‑to‑end process for global market trades. Your day‑to‑day responsibilities will involve investigating trade discrepancies with meticulous attention to detail, monitoring settlement activity across various markets, and amending trades where necessary. You will work closely with agents and internal teams to ensure that all transactions are completed accurately and efficiently. In addition to managing operational challenges under pressure, you will respond swiftly to client and front office queries. Success in this role requires a proactive approach to resolving issues before they escalate, strict adherence to regulatory standards, and a commitment to maintaining transparent records. By fostering strong relationships with stakeholders both locally and globally, you will contribute significantly to the organisation’s reputation for reliability and excellence in trade support operations. Investigate and resolve unmatched or mismatched trades by collaborating closely with agents and internal teams to ensure all discrepancies are addressed promptly. Monitor outstanding APAC domestic settlements daily, reviewing alleged trade reports from agents to maintain accuracy in all transactions. Amend trades when sufficient supporting documentation is present, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies throughout the process. Follow up diligently on mismatched trades escalated from other regions, coordinating with global colleagues to achieve timely resolution. Adhere strictly to company policies, operational guidelines, and regulatory requirements in every aspect of trade support operations. Respond promptly and professionally to client and front office queries, providing clear communication and dependable support at all times. Construct and validate manual SWIFT messages when required, demonstrating technical proficiency in handling complex settlement instructions. Monitor market conditions continuously to proactively resolve issues that may impact successful settlement of Asian domestic trades with good value. Maintain comprehensive records of all trade activities, ensuring transparency and accountability in every transaction handled. Collaborate effectively with internal teams including Front Office staff to facilitate smooth operational processes across multiple business units. Drawing on over a decade of hands‑on experience with Vanilla Derivatives, Fixed Income products, and Equities settlements at leading financial institutions, you bring deep technical expertise in industry‑standard systems like Bloomberg, Gloss, Murex, MarkitWire, and SWIFT. Your analytical acumen enables you to spot discrepancies swiftly while your attention to detail ensures flawless execution of every transaction. You thrive on collaboration—working harmoniously with colleagues across departments as well as external partners—and possess a control‑oriented mindset that drives continuous improvement. Your communication skills foster trust among stakeholders globally while your resilience allows you to manage competing priorities without compromising quality or compliance. Adaptability is second nature as you navigate international markets; your commitment to regulatory standards further strengthens the integrity of the team’s operations. Minimum 8+ years of relevant experience in Trade Support for Vanilla Derivatives, Fixed Income, and Equities within major financial institutions. Proficiency in using trade booking and settlement systems such as Bloomberg, Gloss, Murex, MarkitWire, and SWIFT for efficient transaction management. Exceptional analytical skills enabling you to identify discrepancies quickly and implement effective solutions under pressure. Outstanding attention to detail which ensures accuracy in every aspect of trade processing and settlement activities. Ability to collaborate seamlessly with internal teams including Front Office staff as well as external partners across diverse cultures. Demonstrated control mindset with proven capability to identify areas for process improvement and implement robust controls. Strong verbal and written communication skills allowing you to engage confidently with multiple business units and support partners worldwide.
