Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish)
Overview:
The Lancaster Central School District is searching for an innovative, enthusiastic, and hardworking individual to serve our District as a full-time Spanish teacher. We are interested in candidates who have the ability to work with students while effectively collaborating with the administration, faculty, and staff towards the improvement of our instructional programming.
Core Responsibilities:
- Create and deliver lessons grounded in researched best practice, current formative data, and specially designed instruction.
- Individualize learning experiences as appropriate and create flexible grouping for learning experiences. Observe and evaluate students’ performance in meeting grade level standards.
- Integrate competencies, goals, and objectives into lesson plans, making learning targets clear with students for each lesson as appropriate.
- Manage student behavior in the classroom with appropriate disciplinary techniques.
- Meet course, grade level, and district performance goals.
- Create a positive educational environment for students to learn, grow, and promote success for students of all abilities.
- Utilize curriculum that reflects the diversity of educational, cultural, and linguistic backgrounds of the students being served.
- Participate in ongoing professional development and read to stay abreast of current topics in education.
- Work collaboratively with administrators, department chairs, and colleagues to create a positive work environment that promotes student achievement.
- Develop and utilize various curriculum resources and participate in curriculum writing/modification sessions.
Qualifications:
New York State Certification as a Spanish teacher (Grades 7-12)
