The firm is expanding its Equities Execution Technology team in Hong Kong and is seeking a strong Java Algo Developer to help design and build real‑time execution algorithms, market‑driven trading logic, and high‑performance platform components used directly by Portfolio Managers and traders across the region. Key Responsibilities Design, build, and enhance real‑time algorithmic trading systems and execution platforms in a fast‑paced, highly technical environment. Work closely with technologists, Execution Services, and Equity Finance teams to deliver high‑quality execution capabilities across global and emerging markets. Develop new features, improve system performance, and maintain a mission‑critical, low‑latency trading platform. Analyse order, position, and market data to support production troubleshooting and investigate L3 issues when needed. Modernise and optimise existing components to meet performance, reliability, and quality expectations. Stay current with cutting‑edge technologies, frameworks, and market microstructure research. What My Client Is Looking For Deep experience in server‑side Java, including Spring Boot, multithreading, concurrency, and performance tuning. Hands‑on exposure to order/execution data, market data, equity microstructure, SOR, VWAP, or algorithmic trading workflows. Strong focus on testability, ideally with experience in TDD/XP development practices. Familiarity with low‑latency frameworks, messaging patterns, and proprietary trading infrastructure. 5+ years of experience building algos or order management systems within a trading or financial environment. Strong understanding of Asia equities markets, including auctions, microstructure, and regulatory nuance. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a high sense of ownership.
