Technical Development Manager – Responsibilities Oversee and manage our technical efforts in software development and computational linguistics. Responsible for managing a team of about 6 software developers and computational linguists. Lead in recruiting team members. Manage projects that include natural language processing and AI Agent development. Lead in the recruitment of software engineers. Work with product marketing and lead in software product design and writing specifications. Supervise and lead product delivery on schedule. Report status to the CEO daily. This role requires strong personnel and project management skills, and deep technical understanding. Program management experience is required. This role is based in Hong Kong. You will be required to report daily to Chilin’s Kowloon based office. Senior Software Engineer – Responsibilities To contribute to the development of web-based applications and services. To play key roles in a project team that includes frontend and backend software engineers. To contribute directly to the software development efforts. A combination of frontend user interface programming and/or backend database programming and integration will be expected. Contribute to Product Management, data analysis and production, in the implementation of product features and project schedules. In addition to the finalization of web-based applications, the senior appointee will contribute to the production of commercial APIs in the field of Natural Language Processing and text search. Development platform is on-premise and cloud hosted Linux/Apache/mySQL/Python/FastAPI. (Senior) Software Engineer – Additional Responsibilities Full Stack Development Skills. Coordinate front end, back end and database programmers. Human Language Technologist – Responsibilities Contribution to the development of web-based applications and services for the optimization of Natural Language Processing output, such as post-editing. Contribution to the development of technical term banks. Work closely with software developers. Coordinate/supervise the application of MT and CAT tools, and junior translators. Coordinate with Product Management to implement product features and meet project schedules. Contribute to the development of backend database and text search APIs. Requirements for Technical Development Manager opening Advanced degree in computer science or computational linguistics. Proven experience managing a team of on-site software engineers. Hands‑on experience with web based applications based on MySQL (or similar RDBMS) and Python. Experience working with large language models and AI agents is a plus. A track record of delivering commercial software products. Highly adaptable and resourceful in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to convey complex ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Knowledge in written Chinese is a plus. Local resident of Hong Kong or working visa for Hong Kong already in hand. Indication of salary expectation is needed for further processing. Requirements for (Senior) Software Engineers opening A first degree in a technical field related to information technology such as Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Systems or Software Engineering from amongst the top 100 institutions on the following lists: (1) Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings, (2) 软科世界大学学术排名（Shanghai Ranking's Academic Ranking of World Universities） (ARWU), (3) Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings, or (4) U.S. News & World Report (USNWR). Candidates with an advance degree in Science and with significant qualifications in information technology will be welcome. The Senior Software Engineer will have had experience in developing commercial applications and managing direct reports. Experience working with backend database and text search experience is a plus. Ability to develop authenticated external facing APIs. Ability to interface with third party APIs. Knowledge of backend systems including Apache, MySQL, and SOLR is a plus. Passionate to solve problems with creatively and to be a team‑player. Active involvement with specialists in linguistics, natural language processing and machine translation. Prior experience or interest in these fields and in documentation is an advantage. Knowledge in written Chinese is a plus. Local resident of Hong Kong or working visa for Hong Kong already in hand. Requirements for Human Language Technologist A degree in a language related subject or translation and/or a degree in Information Technology. Extensive knowledge of one or more CAT packages. These could be a full-time or part‑time openings. Prior experience in technical translation and/or post editing is a plus. Ability to lead translators and assessment of translator. Proven ability to interact with specialists in Natural Language Processing to develop applicable API’s, including user interfaces. Ability to interface with third party APIs. Passionate to solve problems with creativity. Prior experience or interest in lexicography, linguistics and/or machine translation is an advantage. Please indicate salary expectation.
