Event Manager (Part-time) – GILT Research Centre The University now invites applications for the Research project "Establishment of GILT Research Centre (Globalisation, Internationalisation, Localisation and Translation)", funded by the Research Grants Council. The GILT Research Centre is seeking an experienced Event Manager to lead the coordination of its upcoming series of international symposiums and workshops. The appointee will oversee the operational delivery of the Centre’s high‑profile events, managing venue planning, hospitality, and programme scheduling. The role involves acting as the principal liaison for distinguished speakers and international delegates, ensuring a high standard of protocol and guest experience, supervising on‑site event operations, and facilitating effective communication between the Centre and its external partners. Responsibilities Oversee operational delivery of the Centre’s high‑profile events, manage venue planning, hospitality and programme scheduling, liaise with distinguished speakers, maintain protocol and guest experience standards, supervise on‑site event operations, and coordinate communication between the Centre and external partners. Qualifications Recognised bachelor’s degree. Minimum six years professional experience in event management, corporate hospitality, public relations, or a related field. Strong organisational capabilities with a proven track record of delivering professional events. Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management skills.
