Number Of Vacancy 1 Relevant Field Others Nature Contract Deadline 16 Dec 2025 Contract Period 03 Jan 2026 to 02 Jan 2027 (12 months) Payroll under InfoTech Employer Business Government T26 Contract Location Base Kowloon Bay Work in Guangdong Province N/A Monthly Salary Range HK$ N/A - N/A Project Nature (T26) Responsible for enhancement and expansion of the infrastructure of a Low‑Power Wide‑Area‑Network (LPWAN) based Internet of Things (IoT) networks; Provide operational support and maintenance of LPWAN/Wi‑Fi/5G/BLE and related backhaul network for various IoT applications; Provide operational support and maintenance of Linux Platform and related database servers for various Internet of Things (IoT) management servers; Responsible for enhancement and expansion of the infrastructure of ESXi and HCI based virtual machine hosting environments, containers and their peripheral system devices such as gateways, routers, switches and load balancers; Responsible for implementing new back‑end system of an IoT infrastructure; and Responsible for testing and experimenting on network equipment and IoT‑related devices for electrical and mechanical (E&M) services and environmental monitoring. Duties Serve a contract assignment under InfoTech's headcount, full‑time second to serve the E&MSD; To operate and maintain the IoT network and management systems; To implement the enhancement of the existing IoT architecture by implementing solutions for high availability, better security consideration, effective scaling design, backup scheduling, etc; To provide investigation, diagnostic testing and resolution for various management systems, hardware and software; To assist in planning, implementing and supporting new technology solutions and upgrade as appropriate; To plan and implement data flow engine for automating data flow between systems; To facilitate an Event‑Driven Architecture (EDA) with Command Query Responsibility Segregation (CQRS) and Event Sourcing; To measure and estimate system capacity to handle growing client needs, plan, advise, liaise and implement solutions for system scale up; To optimise system resources continuously and keep system lean; To facilitate monitoring, alerting and remote management of network infrastructure equipment; To provide day‑to‑day monitoring, operation, and management for network infrastructure services; To ensure that the IT server infrastructure has fulfilled compliance/security requirements and assist in audit review; To prevent, detect, alert and handle intrusions to network server infrastructure; To provide on‑going project/system/network upgrade support including but not limited to broader support of fronthaul and backhaul network protocols; To assist in tendering operations from drafting tender specification to tender award; To test and experiment on IoT‑related equipment and systems; To provide support on troubleshooting IoT‑related equipment configuration problems, which might also include on‑site support; To ensure project deliverables to be on time and meet quality standard; To execute projects according to the team's project management practices. Use Issue Tracking System to manage project. Proactive reporting; To provide technical guidelines and documentations for the team and vendors in order to maintain the quality of service in IoT‑related services and equipment; To coordinate with departmental network/infrastructure team to ensure the LPWAN and IoT management systems fulfil departmental requirements; and To perform other IT services or tasks as assigned by supervisor. Qualifications Degree or Higher diploma in electronics, information, computer subjects, or related disciplines. 3 years or above in IT application and system operational support, preferable with at least 2‑year solid support experience in networking, LPWAN and IoT device related IT systems. Solid experience in supporting LPWAN based IoT network operations, Windows operating systems, Linux operating systems, and VMware virtual server environment, including troubleshooting and administration. Knowledge and solid experience in deploying and operating LPWAN and IoT devices. Knowledge in deployment, configuration, administration of software containerisation technologies (such as Docker). Knowledge and solid experience in application systems using relational databases and time series databases. Knowledge and solid experience in managing government tendering process is a plus. Knowledge in software‑defined storage and/or software‑defined network is a plus. Satisfactory result in the written test on the interview day (if necessary). Technical Skills At least 4 years’ experience in Data/File Backup Technology (DFT). At least 4 years’ experience in Infrastructure (INF). At least 4 years’ experience in Network & System Management (NSM). At least 4 years’ experience in Server Virtualisation Technology (SVT). At least 3 years’ experience in Unix/Linux Shell Scripting (ULS). At least 3 years’ experience in Production Database Support (PDS). At least 2 years’ experience in Project Management and Issue Tracking System (PIT). At least 2 years’ experience in Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP). 3 years’ experience in Proxy Server (PRS) is an advantage. 3 years’ experience in Linux System Administration (LIN) is an advantage. 3 years’ experience in Microsoft SQL Server (MSS) is an advantage. 3 years’ experience in Data Management (DMT) is an advantage. 2 years’ experience in Source Control Management System (SCM) is an advantage. Non‑technical Skills At least 3 years’ experience working with the Government (GOV). Bachelor's degree/Higher Diploma in Computer Science, IT or equivalent. At least 4 years’ post‑qualification experience in which at least 2 years’ relevant experience in a similar post and in a comparable capacity.
