Applications are invited for appointment as Psychologist/Counsellor in the Student Wellness Team of the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: ) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance) Applicants should possess a Master’s or a Doctoral degree in Clinical or Counselling Psychology and be eligible for membership/registration of relevant professional bodies in Hong Kong or overseas, with at least 5 years’ post‑qualification counselling experience in the tertiary education sector or other mental health agencies. Applicants with a background focusing in clinical practices but with a degree in Counselling or Social Work are also welcomed to apply. Evidence of providing bi/multilingual counselling service in English and Cantonese, and offering trainings is essential. Passion to work with youth and young adults, with experience in working with high‑achieving populations are advantages. Applicants with lower qualifications and/or less experience may be considered for appointment as Counsellor. The appointee will plan and implement assessment efforts that inform evidence‑based practice for programmes and services within the scope of the position. He/She will provide screening and risk assessment, individual and group counselling/psychotherapy, crisis intervention and consultation services as appropriate. The appointee will mainly focus on clinical service delivery, and will be required to have strong clinical sensitivity and competency in handling clinically complex cases. The appointee will also deliver regular training to staff and students to promote mental‑health awareness. Working collegially and collaboratively with members of the Student Wellness Team, staff and students of the Faculty, the appointee will develop priorities and goals for the counselling services and outreach programmes in support of student wellbeing/mental‑health promotion. He/She will also receive regular supervision as well as other opportunities to foster professional development. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend a written test and an interview. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment will attract a contract‑end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 15% of basic salary for Psychologist, or up to 10% of basic salary for Counsellor.
