Position Description The Facilities Maintenance Principal Tradesman leads a team in performing routine checks, scheduled maintenance, and urgent repairs on production equipment and building facilities. Reporting to the Supervisor or Technician, the role ensures all work complies with statutory and airworthiness regulations. The Principal Tradesman allocates tasks, provides technical guidance, and monitors work quality and safety. With deep expertise in mechanical, electrical, air-conditioning, or building services trades, the role supports operational efficiency and reliability. Strong leadership, problem‑solving skills, and trade certifications are essential to maintain high standards and ensure seamless facility operations across the organization. What You’ll Do FM Principal Tradesman has to report to FM Supervisor / FM Technician to carry out routine check, schedule maintenance and ad-hoc repair for all production equipment & building facilities; and Lead a team of tradesmen and external labour to handle all daily work and select the most suitable solutions to solve all technical problems. Follow pre-planned schedule to check and repair all production equipment and all building facilities to ensure all comply with statutory and airworthiness regulations. Handle service request to repair all damaged facilities as reported by users and solve all technical problems faced during the repair process. Job allocation for tradesmen/ external labour and monitor the quality of their work completion; technical instructions shall be provided to ensure work can be completed on time. Execute pre-planned maintenance schedules for production equipment and building facilities. Respond to service requests and repair damaged facilities as reported by users. Allocate tasks to tradesmen and external labor, ensuring timely and quality completion. Provide technical guidance and instructions to team members. Conduct inspections and quality checks on completed work. Maintain records of maintenance activities and report progress to Supervisor/Technician (Facilities). What You’ll Need 1. Technical and other Relevant Experience Being assigned and demonstrate competency in leading a crew Passed in internal relevant trade test (at FM Tradesman Grade 2 level) and one additional internal trade test (at Tradesman Grade 1 level) OR Hold one Trades Test 技能測試（大工）Certificate issued by Construction Industry Council (CIC) of his trade and one Intermediate Trades Test 中級工藝測試（中工）Certificate in other trade. OR a. Mechanical Trade - Mechanical fitter b. Electrical Trade - Electrical control panel mechanic c. Air-conditioning Trade - Refrigeration/Air-conditioning/Ventilation Mechanic (Air System) d. Building Service Trade - Plumber Competent in (2) relevant skills for essential equipment and facilities in his trade as assessed by Department • a. Mechanical Trade Pneumatic tooling repair Structure steel repair (Docking, Access stand or MTE) Crane, hoist, lifting gear tooling load testing and repair Hydraulic jacks (axles, tripods) Hydraulic mule / hydraulic system Aircraft towbar repair Scissors platform repair • b. Electrical Trade 400 Hz equipment and controls Power distribution system Portable appliance PLC application Electronic controls • c. Air-conditioning Trade Building Management System MVAC Water side (Chiller, Cooling Tower, pumps, variable speed control, valve) MVAC Air side (AHU, PAU, FCU, sensors, and controls) Process ventilation (water scrubber, paint booth) Sheet metal ductwork formation • d. Building Services Trade Plumbing Painting Waste treatment plant • For Electrical and Air-conditioning Trades, candidate must be worker registered with "Grade A Electrical Work" 2. Qualifications and other Relevant Knowledge Completed Form 3 or above + Minimum 8 years of relevant experience. Craft Apprenticeship/Technician Apprenticeship is an advantage.
