ASTRI's core R&D competence in various areas is grouped under five Technology Divisions: Communications Technologies, Artificial Intelligence and Trust Technologies, Advanced Electronic Components and Systems, IoT Sensing and AI Technologies, and Innovative Mind.

It is applied across six core areas which are Smart City, Financial Technologies, New Industrialisation and Intelligent Manufacturing, Digital Health, Application Specific Integrated Circuits, and Metaverse.

Over the years, ASTRI has nurtured a pool of research, I&T talents and received numerous international awards for its pioneering innovations as well as outstanding business and community contributions. To date, ASTRI has transferred almost 1,500 technologies to the industries and been granted more than 1,100 patents in the Mainland, the US, and other countries.

To support our constant endeavour to position Hong Kong as a world-class smart city and an international hub of innovation and technology, we are seeking qualified professionals to fill the following position(s):

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in ITF R&D project as assigned.
  • Work with system designers, algorithm designers, and software designers to develop deep learning-based computer vision algorithms for project development.
  • Design and train deep neural networks for computer vision applications.
  • Liaise with engineers, other professionals, as well as clients to ensure quality projects are completed to specifications.

Job Requirements

  • Graduate in STEM-related discipline such as Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Information Engineering, and Mathematics or relevant discipline.
  • A bachelor's degree, master's degree, or a doctoral degree holder is welcome to apply.
  • Strong knowledge and experience in AI development, including machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, or computer vision.
  • Experience in deep learning-based computer vision algorithm development using PyTorch or TensorFlow.
  • Proficient in data analysis and manipulation techniques, including data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation.
  • Ability to design, implement, and optimize AI algorithms and models for various applications.
  • Understanding of fundamental data structures and algorithms for efficient AI development.
  • Good command of written and spoken English, self-motivated, and good communication skills.
  • Initiative and drive to complete tasks quickly and efficiently.

The appointment will be on renewable contract terms with a competitive salary and performance-linked variable pay. Fringe benefits include paid leave, medical, insurance coverage, and contribution to MPF. The incumbent will normally work a five-day week.
