Product Development Manager, Sweater

Our client Contempo Limited is seeking a Product Development Manager, Sweater to join their team What you'll be doing? Design & Product Development Interpret customer requirements and brand aesthetics to design sweaters that meet market expectations. Develop seasonal trend stories, mood boards, design sketches, illustrations, CADs, detailed specs, and construction sheets when needed. Collect and analyze trend information relating to colors, yarns, stitches, raw materials, silhouette, and styling. Ensure designs can be executed within quality, cost, and production constraints. Drive creativity, collaboration, trend research, yarn & material innovation, and delivery of high-quality design work across the department. Support the Head of Product Development in designing and leading seasonal sweater collections. Presentation & Communication Prepare and deliver compelling presentation boards, visual decks, and digital assets for internal teams and customers. Support photo/video shoots, styling direction, showroom setups, and related design communication materials when needed. Cross-Functional Collaboration Work closely with merchandising, 3D design technicians, product development teams, suppliers, and factory technicians to ensure smooth product execution. Coordinate and partner seamlessly with merchandising, factories, suppliers, and digital/marketing teams. Market & Trend Research Conduct ongoing research and prepare regular reports on fashion trends, yarn innovation, competitive benchmarks, and global market insights. Stay updated on emerging technologies, consumer behavior, and sustainable materials relevant to sweater development. Ensure products align with customer needs, brand direction, and current market trends. Delivery & Execution Deliver high-quality design work on schedule and within budget. Support ad-hoc design, marketing, or product development tasks as assigned. Participate in periodic travel for market research, factory visits, or customer meetings when required. Who are they looking for? Education : Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Knitwear, or a related field. Experience : 10+ years of experience, including 5+ in a supervisory sweater design role. Skills : Expert knowledge of sweater construction, yarn, knitting techniques, and end-to-end development. Tools : Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite, MS Office, and AI tools. Language : Fluent in English; Mandarin/Cantonese a plus. Attributes : Creative, detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
