NGO - Director of Community & Elderly Care Services Add expected salary to your profile for insights At ConnectedGroup, we have been appointed to support a local non‑profit organization in the search for their Director of Community & Elderly Care Services Reporting into the CEO and leading a large elderly care program and facilities (with direct oversight over ~400 head‑counts), the Director will be responsible for developing the strategy and planning for the department, balancing innovation with regulatory oversight. This position will be required to manage internal and external stakeholders and maintain a visible profile at relevant events. Responsibilities: Support senior management in planning, establishing, and implementing community and elderly care services. Develop long‑term strategies and service roadmaps aligned with corporate objectives. Lead a large team, overseeing operations, governance, and departmental performance. Manage budgets, resources, and staff headcount to ensure services operate efficiently and within financial targets. Approve contracts and payments within delegated authority. Establish policies and guidelines to strengthen governance and service delivery. Build and maintain strong relationships with government bodies, professional associations, academic institutions, and social service organizations. Collaborate with external partners to identify opportunities for strategic partnerships. Promote community bonding and inter‑generational harmony through social support initiatives. Monitor and analyze trends in community care, senior housing, and social innovation. Drive new initiatives that enhance service quality and align with organizational goals. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in social work, social innovation, healthcare, or related discipline (or equivalent). At least 20 years of relevant experience, including 15 years in senior management. Strong business acumen with experience managing self‑financing services. Proven leadership and negotiation skills, with ability to engage stakeholders at all levels. Expertise in strategy development for community and elderly care services. Familiarity with organizational processes, cost control, and budgeting in the social/elderly care sector. Knowledge of quality assurance, local licensing requirements, and regulatory standards for care and housing facilities. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Chinese. Visionary and strategic thinker with balanced business orientation and social conscience. Skilled in planning, organizing, leading, and controlling operations. Politically astute with strong influence and integrity, applied with flexibility. Note: Candidates with no elderly care experience will be considered, so long as they have experience working in healthcare, social work, or social innovation, and managing a business under a very stringent regulatory control.
