About Your Company We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our client's team as the VP, Data Governance. In this newly created headcount, you will play a pivotal role in shaping our data governance landscape and driving data strategies across our organization. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead initiatives that enhance data quality and ensure compliance, ultimately supporting the business expansion goals. Responsibilities Data Strategy Development : Formulate and implement comprehensive data strategies across the organization, ensuring accountability for data governance initiatives. Operationalization of Data Capabilities : Transform data governance frameworks into actionable capabilities that enable new business models while adhering to best-in-class compliance standards. Cross-Department Coordination : Align expectations among data domain owners, IT, and analytics teams regarding data usage, quality, and analytical tools to foster collaboration and efficiency. Governance Framework Implementation : Collaborate with data domain owners to drive the execution of the data governance framework and maintain an up-to-date data catalog. Data Quality Improvement : Lead data cleansing initiatives in partnership with data owners to enhance overall data quality across the organization. Monitoring and Reporting : Maintain a data quality dashboard for stakeholders, facilitating the monitoring of data quality metrics and addressing any identified issues. Qualifications Candidates should possess a university degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Analytics, Computer Science, or a related discipline. This educational background ensures a strong analytical foundation and understanding of data management principles. A minimum of 10 years of experience in data or project management is required, preferably within the banking or finance sector. This experience should include a proven track record of successfully managing data initiatives and driving data governance processes in a regulated environment. Demonstrated experience in implementing enterprise master data strategies is essential. Candidates should be familiar with the principles of master data management, including data integration, data quality, and data lifecycle management, to ensure the accuracy and consistency of critical data across the organization. A solid understanding of data governance practices is crucial. Candidates must be knowledgeable about industry standards and regulatory requirements related to data management, and they should have experience in developing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures. The ideal candidate will be an open-minded and self-motivated team player with strong problem‑solving, communication, influencing, and negotiation skills. This role requires the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders, communicate complex data concepts clearly, and drive consensus across departments. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese is required, with proficiency in Mandarin being a distinct advantage.
