We are currently seeking an experienced, motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to be part of our fantastic Food & Beverage teams at our RAAFA Club located in the Air Force Memorial Estate in Bull Creek, as well as our Residential Aged Care Facility, the Alice Ross-King Care Centre. The RAAFA Clubs are the heartbeat of our estates and are vibrant facilities that boast contemporary function rooms, meeting spaces and a casual, friendly dining experience for members and their guests.

As a 1st or 2nd year apprentice chef, you will have an amazing opportunity to join our fantastic hospitality team, learning skills and techniques that will see you excel in commercial kitchens, function-based roles and aged care. The role and you:

  • Work and learn in a fully equipped commercial kitchen cooking for a café, restaurant and aged care facilities;
  • Assist in food preparation, including portioning ingredients and minimising allergen contamination;
  • Learn different cooking techniques and explore different flavour profiles with exposure to modified diets and meals, broadening your horizons;
  • Follow instructions from experienced chefs and assist in all à la carte and function services;
  • Lead from the front in terms of a safe and quality meal service;
  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement;
  • Working knowledge of Food Safety (HACCP) guidelines and regulations;
  • Passion, enthusiasm and ability to deliver outcomes in a commercial kitchen environment.

What you need to do:

  • Working towards or willing to complete a Cert III in Commercial Cookery or equivalent Traineeship with RAAFA and our partner RTO;
