Product Design & Development Lead a team of Designers on NPD About Our Client Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking sports brand committed to empowering women through performance-driven, fashion-forward activewear. They are seeking a visionary Design Director to lead the Sportswear Product Design team. This role is ideal for a creative leader with a deep understanding of sportswear aesthetics, technical garment construction, and consumer trends. You will drive the design strategy, lead a talented team, and collaborate cross-functionally to deliver compelling collections that resonate with our global audience. Job Description Lead the end-to-end design process for all womenswear product categories, from concept to final prototype. Develop seasonal design strategies aligned with brand vision, market trends, and consumer insights. Mentor and manage a team of designers, fostering creativity, collaboration, and growth. Collaborate with merchandising, product development, and marketing teams to ensure cohesive storytelling and product execution. Champion innovation in materials, fit, and functionality, with a strong focus on sustainability and performance. Present design concepts and collections to senior leadership and external partners. Stay ahead of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies. The Successful Applicant Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or related field; Master's preferred. 10+ years of experience in apparel design, with at least 5 years in a leadership role focused on sportswear. Strong portfolio showcasing innovative and commercially successful designs. Deep understanding of technical fabrics, garment construction, and fit for activewear. Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills. Passion for sports, wellness, and empowering women through design.
