Project Manager (Senior Structural Engineer) (24-Month Renewable Contract) We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager (Senior Structural Engineer) to provide structural engineering expertise and project management support for Urban Renewal Authority Design and Build (D’B) Contract Joint‑user Complex (“JUC”) and Public Open Space (“POS”). This role involves leading structural engineering works and ensuring compliance with statutory and project requirements. The successful candidate will work closely with the Supervising Officer (SO) to deliver a high‑quality project on time. Key Responsibilities Carry out the duties of Project Manager (Senior Structural Engineer) as required under the Services. Review and advise the Authority to issue consent on Approved in Principle (AIP) and Detailed Design Approval (DDA) submissions for structural works, relating to statutory requirements and Employer’s Requirements. Review, comment and approve all drawings, materials, samples, reports and other submissions related to structural works to ensure compliance with the Employer’s Requirements and statutory requirements before fabrication and implementation on site. Check, identify, and classify all temporary and permanent works involving structural input on site and in the design drawings, and report to the Authority. Report to the Authority for any action involving changes to design for direction; seek Authority direction and prepare relevant information for issuance of instruction to the D’B Contractor. Deal with consequential changes to structural design and produce sketch plans and necessary working drawings to liaise with the D’B Contractor. Check and comment on sample submissions, workmanship of site works, mock‑ups, sample floors, selection of materials/equipment, structural details, etc. Check work done for compliance with approved design standards, method statements, quality plans, specifications, and relevant BS or Codes of Practice and requirements stipulated in the Employer’s Requirements. Monitor progress of site works against the approved master programme and/or short‑term programme. Carry out inspections of defects and outstanding works upon completion of construction works. Monitor the progress of defect rectification to ensure timely completion and alignment to the handover schedule. Monitor and audit the inspection records of the implementation of the Quality Site Supervision Plan proposed by the D’B contractor. Attend regular and ad‑hoc meetings and inspections with the Authority, government departments, end‑user departments, Contractor and relevant parties. Review, comment and approve any as‑built drawings, O&M manuals and reports to be submitted by the D’B Contractor before handover to government departments or maintenance units. Undertake any other duties in connection with structural engineer’s duties. Carry out routine inspections of the structural works. Qualifications and Experience Member of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (Structural Discipline) or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of relevant post‑qualification experience. Minimum of 3 years of design and build job experience for the Architectural Services Department in the capacity of structural engineer or above. Immediate availability is an advantage.
