Term Lecturer

Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (Tsing Yi) Department / Section: Department of Business Major Duties To perform teaching duties including supervision of student projects and fieldwork placement. To carry out duties in relation to student and academic administration. To develop programme curriculum and teaching, learning and assessment materials. To assist in validation and accreditation of programmes. To participate in networking with industry / industrial attachments, departmental projects and functions including but not limited to consultancy services, research studies, seminars and exhibitions. To attend meetings when necessary. Requirements A relevant recognised degree or professional qualification, preferably with a post-graduate qualification. At least 3 years’ relevant teaching and/or industry experience. Good communication, teaching and presentation skills and a high level of proficiency in both English and Chinese, preferably including Putonghua. A good team player with a proactive attitude. Preferably with knowledge and experience in curriculum and new module development. Candidate(s) with good records of linkage with industry or professional bodies and/or good understanding of VPET education would be an advantage. Specific Requirements: Relevant experience working in the logistics industries, with a focus on airport ramp service, air cargo operation, special cargo operation, e‑commerce operation, service management, SMART Warehousing, shipping practices and carriage law. Solid knowledge of industry regulations, safety protocols, and best practices in the respective fields is required. Notes Candidates with less experience may be considered for the post of "Term Assistant Lecturer", at the rank of Teaching Associate. Applicants with substantial experience and achievements in the relevant field but without the required academic / professional qualifications OR those with exceptional academic / professional qualifications but with less experience may also apply. The initial posting is in IVE (Tsing Yi). The appointee(s) may be posted to other work location(s) to suit the operational needs. Shortlisted candidate will be required to take a written assessment.
