Travel is part of this position, but the frequency may vary based on client, team, and individual circumstances.

What you'll do

We are in an increasingly busy restructuring market and our Turnaround & Restructuring Services practice has ambitious growth plans - this has created opportunities for individuals from a range of backgrounds. As a Consultant in our Turnaround & Restructuring Services practice, you will play a key role in delivering client solutions across our service offerings:

  • Creditor Advisory: Lead analytical workstreams in creditor situations, including detailed financial modelling, scenario analysis, and options assessment. Support senior team members in developing and implementing creditor strategies.
  • Debtor Advisory: Work alongside senior team members to analyze and implement financial and operational solutions for management teams facing crisis situations. Take ownership of critical workstreams including cash flow forecasting, business plan analysis, and operational improvement initiatives.

We now have opportunities in Hong Kong for Consultants with demonstrated restructuring or relevant advisory experience. While working across various aspects of engagements, you will have significant responsibility for key deliverables and workstreams.

We are looking for smart, pragmatic and results-focused individuals, who can operate on a range of Hong Kong-based as well as international engagements.

What you'll need Background & qualifications
  • 3-5 years of experience in restructuring, financial analytical work, banking, or relevant field
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field with strong academic record
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Mandarin; Cantonese language skills strongly preferred
  • Demonstrated experience in several of the following areas:
    • Financial modelling and analysis
    • Cash flow forecasting and liquidity management
    • Business plan critique
    • Working capital optimization
    • Contingency planning and liquidation analysis
    • Financial restructuring analysis
    • Operational improvement initiatives
    • Basic understanding of Hong Kong Companies Ordinance and restructuring frameworks

This role typically involves working on multiple projects simultaneously, requiring strong time management and prioritization skills. The position often demands long hours and requires the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines.

  • Able to conduct comprehensive financial assessments of distressed companies, analyzing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements
  • Able to perform due diligence on stressed businesses to evaluate financial health and operational efficiency
  • Able to develop and maintain complex financial models, including 3-statement models, cash flow forecasts, and scenario analyses
  • Assist in developing tailored turnaround strategies to improve financial stability of clients
  • Assist in preparing and presenting reports and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders
  • Proven ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Experience in managing discrete workstreams independently
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Strong project management capabilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and professional presence with growing ability to interact effectively with clients
  • Knowledge of Hong Kong and PRC business culture and practices
  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Attention to detail, strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Adaptability to work in challenging and turbulent client situations
  • Willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice
  • Willingness to work outside of normal business hours as required
