About The Role The Innovation and Technology Solutions Attorney is an integral part of Latham’s Technology & Information Services team. This role serves as a connection point and conduit between the firm’s lawyers, clients, and the Technology & Information Services Department to ensure the firm’s technology systems, tools, and services meet the needs of practicing attorneys and clients. You will work with practice group leadership and support teams to understand technology needs at the practice group level, develop technical strategies to improve efficiency, and recommend integration of applications and technology solutions into practice workflows. This position is based in our Hong Kong or Singapore office and may allow for a flexible, hybrid working schedule. Responsibilities Stay abreast of advancements in generative artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to maintain a state‑of‑the‑art technology platform. Provide updates and analysis of new technologies and industry trends to firm management and practice group leadership. Seek opportunities to leverage technologies in specific practices, assist with pilot and proof‑of‑concept programs, draft specifications, evaluate software and test products. Work with the Technology & Information Services Department and firm leadership to recommend strategic deployment of efficient processes, technology‑related policies, software tools, and solutions for attorneys and clients. Foster strategic relationships with industry organizations, innovation thought leaders and third‑party vendors. Assist with communications between practicing lawyers, local technology teams, and the global technology support services group, ensuring support efforts are managed and resolved appropriately. Participate in technology‑related working groups and committees as necessary, such as the Technology Committee and the Security Committee. Communicate with attorneys by preparing and delivering technology presentations and training related to strategic technology deployments and projects, collaborating with key attorneys on service initiatives, and exploring how emerging technologies can support legal services to clients. Qualifications Possess an understanding of product development and management, including user personas, user stories, scoping, requirements documentation, roadmap planning, UI/UX concepts, and user testing. Demonstrate proficiency in enterprise PC applications, including MS Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Visio. Display knowledge of LegalTech product categories. A JD or equivalent, and admission to a relevant state bar. Experience as a practicing lawyer in a law firm or in a legal operations role. Experience in a technology role, preferably within a legal context.
