Operations, Team Lead

Overview Operations Team Lead for AXA XL in Hong Kong, hybrid working mode. Responsible for providing high-quality administrative services to the Middle Office and assisting Middle Office Management with the day-to-day leadership of a team that supports multiple stakeholders, acting as the primary point of contact from an operational perspective. What You’ll Be DOING Manage the end-to-end BAU operational support across multiple business lines, ensuring timely and accurate execution of key processes. Act as a key liaison across cross-functional teams including Underwriter, IT, operations, and regional business units to ensure alignment and execution of initiatives. Ensure that both individual and corporate targets are met while fostering continuous development of staff. Maintain staff motivation, focus, engagement and adherence to AXA XL values. Provide feedback to staff formally and informally; identify training needs and provide coaching. Drive continuous improvement by identifying inefficiencies and recommending process enhancements. Introduce and document improved data analysis and operational processes with the Operations Lead, Asia. Manage a group of up to 10 individuals. Monitor business activity and report on operational metrics for the team as required. Demonstrate proactive involvement and assist with leadership in project work. Ensure all functions within the team follow relevant procedures and are compliant with regulatory requirements. Perform quality control on outputs to ensure accuracy (e.g., exposure bases, limits, coverage extensions, modifications). Support audit, compliance, and risk requirements by ensuring process consistency and documentation. Support and assist in monitoring and tracking work that has been offshored/outsourced. Champion local requirements in global projects, ensuring alignment with local regulatory standards and assessing impacts on local processes. Act as an effective deputy/alternate for Middle Office Management as required. What You Will BRING Proven experience in a leadership role within the insurance industry. Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to interact confidently across functions and regions. Proven ability to manage change and drive results through collaboration. Demonstrated experience in working with offshoring/outsourcing models. Ability to collaborate effectively with offshore teams and lead transitions to ensure seamless performance monitoring. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and juggle numerous concurrent responsibilities. Capability to lead in a hybrid environment. Technical knowledge and skills inclusive of all products. Strategic thinking with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and decision-making. Organizational, time-management and multi-tasking skills. Ability to identify root causes and drive continuous improvement and process efficiency. Flexibility and innovation to adapt to changing environments.
