Overview Tenure-Track Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Microbiology, School of Clinical Medicine. Four-year fixed-term contract with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second four-year fixed-term contract, subject to satisfactory performance. Ref.: . Responsibilities Teach undergraduate and postgraduate courses in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases; develop teaching programs. Supervise postgraduate research students. Conduct independent research and publish; contribute to the department's research profile. Provide clinical services at the University’s teaching hospitals. Participate in academic and administrative duties within the Department and Faculty. Qualifications Medical qualification registrable with the Hong Kong Medical Council. Postgraduate professional qualifications in clinical disciplines related to clinical microbiology and infectious diseases. Proven commitment to excellence in teaching; experience in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases preferred. Ability to teach at undergraduate and postgraduate levels; supervise research; track record of publications. Broad knowledge and clinical experience in clinical microbiology and infectious diseases, from laboratory to bedside. Salary and Benefits Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience, annual leave and medical benefits. At current rates, salaries tax does not exceed 15% of gross income. End-of-contract gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme up to 15% of basic salary. Monthly cash allowance and housing benefits as applicable.
